Hey there! I've got a few things I thought I'd bring up with you, so here it goes.
I've had a total of three threads with you so far – two with Zelgadis and one with Tazendra - and in each of these three threads I found I was often at a loss for how to direct the thread or proceed from the tags you'd given me. I can say nothing of characterization in either case, as I'm canon-blind to both, but RP is often more enjoyable for both parties when there's a sense of give and take between the players. I tended to feel that in these threads I was the sole 'director' thereof.
As I understand it, both your characters have a tendency to be somewhat compendious, so I'd like to note that I'm not referring to the shortness of their dialogue. There's a great deal that can be revealed about a character through other cues, such as body language, descriptions of their tone or the internal thought processes that make them tick. I believe it would help those you thread with feel as though they're not being driven to do the majority of the 'heavy lifting', so to speak - in regards to thread or plot advancement - if there was more to react to in the main body of your tags.
Regarding both your tags to Jim specifically, I intentionally put him in situations where he could be overheard speaking (as in the bar thread) or engaged regarding science (as in the exploration thread) and you chose to reply with posts that amounted to 'my character is over here doing their own personal business and don't want to be bothered'. As a 'hook', that puts the onus of conversation completely on the other party, and can be somewhat frustrating to try and work with. If you're uncertain as to how to force a taciturn or anti-social character to interact with strangers, it might also help to try and plot something out directly with the other party beforehand, to avoid running into these issues?
As always, ymmv. This is sort of a subjective matter, and it's possible that we simply don't have compatible styles of play. That said, as far as crit goes, I would suggest adding more content and direction in your tags.
Yes, this is my problem; while Zel is anti-social, Tazendra is an outgoing character I specifically chose as a challenge (and as the kind of person who would get into things). Thank you; I'll try to work on this in the future.
Also, I'm sort of used to more comment-spam style of RP, so adapting to games when I'm expected to post a bit more about thought and body language is tricky. I'll work on it.
